Heart Week 2-8 May 2022

Contact us for your free Heart Health Check if you are 30 years or older – phone us on 44214422.

With one Australian having a heart attack or stroke every 4 minutes, we have the power to change this statistic.

What should you expect in your Heart Health Check?

  • There are different tests to check your risk factors. Your GP or nurse will check your blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar levels and perform an electrocardiogram (ECG).
  • A discussion about history and lifestyle. Your lifestyle is an important part of assessing your risk of heart disease, as these factors can all play a part. You may be asked about: your diet, physical activity levels; if you smoke or drink alcohol; whether you are maintaining a healthy weight; your medical and family history.

Next, your GP usus the information gathered to assess your risk of having a stroke or heart attack in the next 5 years. If needed, your GP or nurse will work with you to set a plan for lessening your risk factors for heart disease and keep on top of your health.
