As of 1/11/2025 Worrigee Street Medical Centre will be participating in the Universal Bulk Billing program (UBB) and will be bulk billing all Medicare card holders for all eligible Medicare services.
This means that all general face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, chronic disease management items, immunisations, mental health consultations, and health assessment consultations will be bulk billed for everyone, meaning NO out-of-pocket costs to you. We are sure many of you will appreciate this saving.
Please be aware that the government has not deemed all Medicare services suitable for the UBB program. Examples of these services and the associated fees are listed below.
PLEASE BE PREPARED TO BE CHARGED FOR THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:
- Skin lesion removals or biopsies (prices vary depending on procedure)
- Iron infusions – $200.00 (no Medicare rebate)
- Specific pregnancy related consultations (prices vary)
- Implanon insertions or removals (please enquire about fee)
- Insurance matters including Workcover consultations
- Pre-employment Medicals and associated screening tests
- Drug and alcohol testing – $50.00 (nurse only)
Please discuss these services with your doctor if you have any financial concerns. We hope that these changes can enable Worrigee Street Medical Centre to continue to provide you with the high standard of care that we all value, with lower out of pocket expenses for you. We will evaluate this at regular intervals and keep you informed of any changes.
Our practice endeavours to identify potential costs to patients and to inform patients where there will be an out-of-pocket expense at our practice. Our reception team will give you a quote for any services that do not relate to the standard Medicare schedule for your financial consent prior to your consultation. The reception team can provide you with a detailed schedule of fees including the Medicare rebate for consultations that are not covered under the Universal Bulk Billing program.
Payment is expected at the time of the consultation and we accept Mastercard, Visa and all debit cards.
