Worrigee Street Medical Centre was purchased by Dr Kate Manderson in 2009. Our mission is to provide quality, accessible, community based, patient focused primary health care services in the Shoalhaven.  Our vision is to grow our people and skills to be able to meet the future general practice need of the Shoalhaven community without compromising our values or our standards.

Our values – which describe the culture and drivers for the way we will achieve our Mission and our Vision are:

  • STANDARDS of work that match or exceed the best, evidence-based medical practice
  • COLLABORATION and consultation with equity of input from stakeholders
  • RESPECT for all team members and the importance of each contribution
  • STRENGTH of our practice and our team through workforce development and support

Staff Training and Education

Worrigee Street Medical Centre is committed to attracting and retaining skilled clinicians and to providing a working environment that enables staff to develop their skills and capabilities through continued professional development courses, where skills gained will improve the care we provide to our patients and community. Financial support is provided to our nurses to cover contributions towards course or program fees and demonstrates the organisations commitment to supporting the development of its staff. Non- financial support is also provided to staff members by way of paid work time to attend lectures/tutorials/workshops and exams that will enhance their knowledge and skills.

Our doctors update their skills relevant to their scope of practice regularly by participating in Continued Professional Development (CPD) learning activities. This involves maintaining, developing, updating, and enhancing their knowledge, skills and performance to ensure they deliver appropriate and safe care. CPD is a professional obligation of all medical practitioners and is a registration requirement of the Medical Board of Australia (MBA). Our practice is a teaching and mentoring practice and is affiliated with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners to support registrar doctors in their pathways to specialise as general practitioners with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACCRM).
