Heart Week 4-10 May 2026

Never miss a BEAT by booking a Heart Health Check. It’s a 20-minute check up with your GP to assess your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next five years and discuss steps you can take to lower your risk.

Most people have heard of a Heart Health Check, but far fewer have had one. If that sounds like you, you’re not alone, and it is worth knowing how simple it is.

A Heart Health Check is a 30-minute check-up with your GP and nurse to assess your risk of a heart attack or stroke. It helps you understand your risk over the next 5 years and what you can do to help prevent it.

You’re eligible for a heart health check if you have not already been diagnosed with heart disease and you are:

  • 45 years and over
  • 35 years and over for people living with diabetes
  • 30 years and over for First Nations peoples

Not quite there yet? A regular GP visit is still a great way to understand your heart and overall health, and get ahead of any concerns early. Phone the practice on 4421 4422 to schedule an appointment.
